Beat 6 starts below the New Bridge on the B9176 Evanton to Bonar Bridge road, and runs down to the boundary of the angling club water next to the golf course. Much of the beat runs through more sandstone and conglomerates with the river creating sections of gorge and pots.

The beat starts with Island Boils, and then the Juniper pool, best fished in high water. Below that is a long cascade with pockets of water quite capable of holding a grilse, which ends at the Goat's pool a picturesque pool also most productive in high water. Below the Goat's pool is a series of runs and pools called the Grilse Runs which can hold a surprisingly high number of fish. They end at the Otter fishable in all heights of water including the highest spates. The Dam pool below lies between an island and a magnificent cliff wall. It can be reached in most heights of water except high spates (it's not a good idea to fish it on a rising river!). The Dam is a prolific holding pool; the run into it is excellent in low water, and the tail can be very productive after spates when the water is still high but receding.

The lower half of the beat starts with Chamberlain's, followed by Bracken Bank, then Miller’s one of the first main holding pools for fresh run fish from the firth, and one of the most productive in any height of water. Below Miller's the gradient increases again in a series of small pools and cascades including Treble Rocks before the next main pool, Pool na Poach (Distillery pool) and the Pot below that. Both of these pools can produce fish in all heights of water.
