Pool & Bank Maintenance


A program of pool maintenance is carried out on the Novar beats each spring: fallen trees and log jams are removed from the river and bank side trees, overhanging branches and shrubs pruned. The banks are flailed and then strimmed throughout the length of the Novar beats around the last week in June.

In addition to the the normal pruning and strimming, work carried out in 2009 included:

B1 Burn - all shrubs cut back RB

B1 Kinloch Bridge - all shrubs cut back RB

B2 The Cliff – fallen tree removed from water (mid-season).

B2 Lower Pot - all trees cut back on RB greatly improving access.

B4 Glide – removal of fallen tree from water LB; significant pruning of overhanging firs on RB.

B4 Corner – fallen tree removed from water.

B4 Cunningham's - tree hanging down into pool from RB removed.

B5 Aggie’s Bridge – all trees cut back from LB above bridge significantly improving access.

B6 Island Boils – all trees cut back on RB greatly improving access.

B6 The Falls – fallen trees removed from water.
